VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Hello Wildcat Nation,
This is an important message for the parents of our West Hills Middle School students.
We will hold an end-of-the-year carnival on Tuesday, May 30, from 8:00 am to 11:00 am to celebrate our students who earned a citizenship grade of H (honorable) or S (satisfactory) in all of their classes for fourth quarter.
We are asking for parent volunteers to assist us with supervision of a variety of activities, and we are looking for help.
The activities we need assistance with include distributing treats (such as cotton candy, popcorn, etc.), supervising sports, running carnival games, face painting, a photo booth, and more. We could also use help with setting up at 7:30 am.
If you can assist, please fill out this form.
Thanks, and make it a wonderful Wildcat day!
Come to Cafe Zupas for a house-made meal and WEST HILLS MIDDLE SCHOOL will earn up to 25% back! Mark your calendars and order your favorites on MAY 16TH from 4pm-9pm. Showing your support has never been so simple.

Teacher Feature Week 4 Reveal
WEEK 4 Teacher Feature was.... MS. BEYNON!
Why did you decide to become a teacher? Middle School was hard for me, and the only way I got through it was knowing I had teachers I could depend on when I needed them. I always felt like I wanted a job where I would make a difference and do good in the world, and the impact of those few teachers really helped me to recognize that I wanted to one day help the kids that need it in the same way those teachers helped me.
What is your favorite part about teaching? Obviously, Geography is the best subject to teach, but what I love more are the moments in-between lessons where I just get to talk to the kids. I love telling them stories, hearing their stories, and sharing the things about ourselves that reminds us that we are all human.
Fun fact: In my personal life, I am actually quite shy. My students wouldn't know it, as I have found my place comfortably sharing silly stories and making a fool of myself in front of the classroom, but my friends and family have always known me to be an introvert, someone who is uncomfortable being around other people. When I told my family I wanted to be a teacher they replied with "You know that job requires you to talk to people, right?," as if talking to people was my worst nightmare. My friends and family are always surprised to hear I am so open around my students.
STAY TUNED FOR WEEK 5

Teacher Feature Week 3 Reveal
Our Teacher Feature from last week was....
Ms. Hunsaker
Why did you decide to become a teacher? I thought Science was lame all through middle school and then realized how fun science was in High School. I wanted to bring a fun twist to middle school science. I also wanted to make students love science and feel empowered in their individual learning.
What is your favorite part about teaching? I love the connections I make with the students. There is always something new going on in their lives and that's fun!
Fun fact: I used to teach students that lived in China. My husband and I have built out our own camper van. I've dissected a real human body.
